BGV Welcomes New Members to the Board and Investment Committee

By Paul Miller

We’re delighted to announce the addition of three fantastic people to the wider BGV team.

Joining the BGV Board as a non-executive member, we’re pleased to welcome Amanda Feldman. Amanda is a leader in the field of impact measurement and brings with her a tremendous amount of experience and insight through her work on the Impact Management Project – a global, consensus-driven effort to understand, measure and manage impact. The IMP has been supported by a diverse consortium of funders, and has engaged over two thousand impact professionals over the last three years as it has become the preeminent resource for measuring and managing impact in the investment world. Amanda joins Giles and Fran as a non-exec board member, as well as Melanie and me as the executive board members and Evita who represents Big Society Capital as an observer.

We’re also delighted to have two fantastic additions to our Investment Committee at BGV – Steven Clarke and Trevor Hope. Both are experienced venture investors and are super-committed to helping BGV become the best tech for good investor we can possibly be.

Over the last 7 years Steven has been involved as Chairman or Board Member in seven growth businesses, three of which exited successfully. Previously he spent 21 years in private equity and venture capital with 3i, August Equity and ICG. He’s got a vast amount of knowledge and skills relating to technology businesses internationally. Steven has also been an investment committee member for Social and Sustainable Capital so is no newbie when it comes to impact investing.

Trevor is a Partner at Mobeus Equity Partners where he leads its growth investment team. Previously he was Chief Investment Officer at Beringea where he developed and implemented its investment strategy over a twelve-year period. Prior to that he spent several years at 3i and Barclays. He has invested in early and growth stage investments for over 20 years with investments including Paragon Software, Cambridge Industries, Achilles Group, Big Data Partners, Fjord and Preservica. Trevor has also served as a Governor of the University of Westminster where he Chaired its Finance and Property committee.

Steven and Trevor join Melanie and me on the Investment Committee and will help us make decisions about which ventures to invest in at all stages.
