BGV’s startups shine once again in the NT100 Social Tech Guide

By Ben

We’re incredibly proud once again to see a number of ventures that we’ve backed named in the latest NT100, Nominet Trust’s annual guide of 100 inspiring digital social innovations from around the world. Launched last month, the NT100 recognised BGV alumni Andiamo, Aparito, ChangeAlert, Flowy, and Talklife for their outstanding achievements to date.

Every year, the NT100 judging panel selects 100 people and organisations using digital technology to change the world for the better. These innovations are compiled into an online resource called the Social Tech Guide, which recognises their achievements and explores what drives these entrepreneurs to make scalable impact. Alumni teams that have been selected in previous years include Fairphone, DrDoctor and Open Utility.

The NT100 launch sparked lots of media interest, with great profiles in Forbes, the FT, and the Guardian, which shows the growing excitement and interest in this area, and helps tech for good to be seen as a sector in its own right. We hope all the publicity will inspire more people to think about creating tech solutions to the social and environmental problems we face.

Congratulations to all the projects on the NT100. We look forward to seeing which BGV teams make the cut next year!
