Last night, in a flurry of festive cheer, we announced the ten teams who will be joining us in January for our Winter 2015 accelerator programme. We’re really excited about working with this talented bunch of people on some really disruptive ideas that will put technology to use for social good.We were impressed with the quality of applications for this programme and there were some interesting lessons and data that came out of the selection process. But without further ado, here are the final ten teams:Aparito: Elin Haf Davies, Ed Freed and James SkinnerAparito is a platform that utilises wearable technology to improve data collection for children that take part in clinical trials.Biblio: Mehmood Khan and Sabina DosaniBiblio is an online bibliotherapy service that will provide personalised “book prescriptions” to help people find new perspectives on problems, through professionally curated prose.Birdsong: Ruba Huleihel, Sarah Beckett and Sophie SlaterBirdsong is an online marketplace that supports women’s charities by curating and selling fashion products made by disadvantaged women.Club Soda: Laura Willoughby MBE, Andy Jaeger, Jussi Tolvi and Nic RattleClub Soda wants to support you to change your drinking, whether you want to cut-down, stop for a bit or quit. Set goals, monitor progress, nudges and rewards, events and community plus expert help.GroupU: Richard Canning, Georgina Atkinson and Denis HowlettGroupU is an online tool that maximises individual student progress through effective classroom collaboration, while leading teachers to think deeply about their own practice. It is a power tool for planning and delivering outstanding lessons.Hospify: James Flint, Neville Dastur, Charles Nduka, Grattan Hooey and David SharplesHospify is the contact directory and social network for the entire NHS. It is a social tool that enables simple, fast and direct communication between all NHS employees.imin: Nishal Desai, Nick Evans, Dominic Fennell and Megan McGrattanimin is a data platform that will allow and encourage groups and individuals to access all sports and leisure activities everywhere.No11-VR: Kumar Jacob, Tanya Hardy, Jamie Macdonald and Ben FawcettNo11-VR creates virtual reality experiences for use in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. Using virtual reality technology, it will allow patients to do exposure tasks with engaging experiences that will make the CBT treatment more effective.OurPath: Mike Gibbs and Chris EdsonOurPath is a smartphone application that coaches and motivates diabetes patients to live a healthier lifestyle.Run An Empire:Sam Hill and Ben BarkerRun An Empire encourages people to get physically active through a playful, free-to-play, massively-multiplayer running game.
