Introducting the Firesouls Fundfindr – a smarter way to find funding

By Jessica

Firesouls creates digital products to get more resources into local communities. Dan and Ruth are part of our summer accelerator programme, they’ve just launched Firesouls Fundfindr, and they’d like to tell you all about it.

What is the Fundfindr?
The Fundfindr is a matching tool to help local projects find funding. It contains information on over £800m of funds for Lambeth based organisations and has details of over 900 grants. Our special algorithm matches local projects doing social good to the funding they have the best chance of winning. The process is simple – just sign up on the website and provide a bit of information about the project to get started.

Why have you made it?
We believe in the power of local projects to make positive change in their areas and we know that finding funding can be difficult. We wanted to make finding funding easier and smarter.

The Fundfindr is how we help fund projects while we are working on our new tool – the Social Value Exchange. The Social Value Exchange will work by matching local projects that need resources with government suppliers that can provide them. Projects that create social value in their local communities will be able to come up with a wish-list (typically made up of time, money or materials) of things they need to deliver their project objectives. These will be given, no strings attached, by organisations that supply government – per the requirements of the Social Value Act.

Who is Fundfindr for?
At the moment the Fundfindr is for projects based in Lambeth – whether they are voluntary sector organisations, community projects or social enterprises. We’d like to expand the Fundfindr to other boroughs in the near future. Watch this space!
