Learning and Impact Report

In 2017 we celebrated five years of running the BGV accelerator and investing in tech for good. Our Learning and Impact Report looks back on the progress we’ve made in building the tech for good community and supporting tech for good ventures that will benefit millions of lives and deliver great returns for investors.

Inside this report:

  • Our chairman Giles Andrews and CEO Paul Miller reflect on the last five years growing BGV and the tech for good community
  • We reveal data and key highlights from five years, ten accelerator cohorts and 95 ventures
  • There are a host of venture stories from startups across our portfolio
  • We highlight some of our best London Tech for Good Meetup events, a community which we’ve helped to grow to over 6,000 members
  • We break down what BGV does to achieve social impact and measure our progress so far
  • We write about our approach to diversity, and how we’re measuring the sustainability of our business through B Corps

Let us know if you have any feedback. As Paul says in his CEO message, we now know vastly more about supporting and investing in tech for good ventures than we did when we started Bethnal Green Ventures, but we still have lots to learn.

“We believe that there is huge potential for technology to have a positive social impact on the world and that we can build a fantastic investment firm to back ventures that will deliver on that potential. We’re very proud of what we’ve achieved so far, but we’re even more excited about what we do over the coming decades.”
