We are really excited to announce the new cohort for the Bethnal Green Ventures Summer 2015 programme! After an unprecedented number of applications, BGV has chosen the following 10 teams, who are working on startups which are looking to use technology to affect the lives of millions of people. Teams applied from the UK as well as a dozen countries around the world, and we're thrilled to be working with these teams this summer:

Project Tide

Cyan, Matt, and Anant are creating a diagnostic test strip reader app that uses a smartphone to help improve the diagnosis of TB, and a technology platform for improving the accuracy of reading strip tests.

Konnektis

Mark and David are developing a highly innovative digital platform to enhance integration between the main providers of domiciliary care – paid carers, volunteers and family members - to transform collaboration between them.

E-Fridge

Michael, Rhiannon, and Imtiaz are developing an eFridge magnet that helps elderly people live in their own home and retain their independence. eFridgemagnet is a sensor inbuilt into a fridge magnet, which provides a non-invasive way for a relative to know about their loved one's daily activities in the kitchen.

Cove

Ivor, Alex, Chris and Fiona are developing Cove – enabling people to communicate their feelings and emotions through expressive music-making, particularly around the experience of grief and loss.

Mathscraft

Prathap, Robin and David are developing multiplayer maths games for primary school children - making maths fun and interactive.

UK Flood Network

Ben and Tom are building smart hardware and a data platform to create low cost flood monitoring and warning systems.

PositionDial

Mariam, David and Daniel have been working on this new way of exploring your political position, seeing the different sides of issues you care about, and making your views count.

RentSquare

Helena, Lais and Iban are building the first ethical digital service where tenants and landlords can connect directly and close deals around the best rent price. RentSquare, rent made simple, fair and square.

Firesouls

Dan, Jan, and Ruth are building an online exchange that brings together government suppliers and local civic projects to create social value.

Lessonate

Dave and Carlos are working on a learning hub and social network to encourage and support educators through curation, collaboration and resource sharing, particularly around computing education. These are our ten teams! If you'd like to get involved or know someone they should meet, don't hesitate to drop us a line or come meet us. We'll be looking for another ten teams in six months' time – until then, watch this space for updates.
