At BGV, we’ve always believed that the right mix of people, ideas, and ambition can change the world for the better. As we look to the years ahead, we know the opportunity for tech for good has never been greater. We also know that to meet that opportunity, we need to grow — supporting more founders, attracting more mission-aligned investors, and building the resources to help our portfolio thrive. That’s why we’re so excited to welcome Martin Davis as our new Chairman.

Martin brings a deep understanding of how to scale investment firms with ambition and purpose. As CEO of Molten, he led the company through a period of transformative growth, turning it into one of Europe’s most active technology investors. His expertise in strategy, fundraising, and organisational leadership will be instrumental as we take BGV into its next phase.

Our model is unique in the venture world. We make our first investments through our twice-yearly Tech for Good Programme, backing pre-seed founders with capital, learning, and hands-on support to help them build strong, sustainable businesses. We then provide follow-on investment to the most promising companies emerging from the programme, helping them scale their impact and commercial success.

We asked Martin what drew him to the role and he said:

“I have been really impressed with what Paul and Melanie have created at BGV and very much look forward to helping them scale the fund. Their unique model, combining capital and mentoring, provides vital support to some of our most promising social impact entrepreneurs and I am delighted to be joining such a highly motivated and talented team."

With Martin’s guidance, we’ll be looking to build on that foundation — broadening our network of investors, deepening our support for founders, and strengthening our position as Europe’s leading tech for good investment firm. It’s an exciting moment for BGV and for the wider tech for good movement, and we can’t wait to see what we can achieve together.
