Meet our Spring 2025 cohort
We’re excited to unveil the 11 teams who are joining BGV as part of the Spring 2025 Tech for Good programme. These teams are all unified in their drive to achieve positive outcomes for people and planet, ranging from improving foster care, to tackling marine pollution or respiratory diseases, and more. We see great potential for them to join our Tech for Good programme and are excited to welcome them to our Spring 2025 cohort.
Ventures contributing to Healthy Lives
Breath Predict
Dr Victor Higgs, Dr Hanya Ahmed
Breath Predict aims to reduce the death toll caused by respiratory diseases, which is the third biggest cause of death affecting 12 million people in England. The team are building a non-invasive breath analysis device powered by AI to predict respiratory issues and support early, accurate diagnosis and management.
BuddyApps/ MyCopilot AI
Alastair Brayne
MyCopilot.ai tackles the growing concern of compulsive smartphone usage, especially among people with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). MyCopilot.ai is an AI copilot providing real-time, psychologically informed interventions to break harmful online habits and build healthier routines.
Legacy Compass
Legacy Compass aims to provide people dealing with the loss of loved ones the means to cope with the complex challenges of such life-changing events, which can have long-lasting emotional and financial consequences. Legacy Compass simplifies end-of-life and legacy planning according to the cognitive needs of users, with the ability to connect with trusted professionals and communities of care when needed.
Orli Health
Dr. Mark Cox, Euan Bell
Orli Health is tackling the critical gap in UK children's mental health services. Despite rising demand, 70% of affected children never receive care. Orli’s AI-powered app helps families manage stress with real-time tools, personalised support, and behavioural insights. OrliORGANISATIONS supports schools and workplaces, while iINSIGHTS provides predictive analytics for healthcare and government.
Streetwise Technology
Dorian Isaacson
Streetwise Technology is addressing the problem of pedestrian safety, accessibility, and sustainability in urban mobility. Streetwise Technology is an AI-powered smart crossing system that modernises the Belisha beacon. Using advanced sensors, it detects pedestrians and vehicles, adapting to driver behaviour to prevent collisions.
Ventures contributing to a Sustainable Planet
Biobright
Vanessa Giorgia Barzasi, Ayrton Barzasi
BioBright aims to address marine pollution and climate change. BioBright combines algae cultivation with real-time monitoring systems to reduce CO2 emissions and water pollution. The monitoring system tracks algae performance, providing data on CO2 capture and pollutant absorption, enabling ports to meet environmental targets for carbon reduction and marine restoration.
Fynlo AI
Fynlo AI is tackling high CO2 emissions from the UK’s 652,000 heavy goods vehicles (HGVs). Despite making up only 1% of UK vehicles on roads, HGVs contribute 19.1 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent (MtCO₂e) annually - equivalent to all UK air travel, buses and shipping combined. Fynlo AI is developing an AI-powered SaaS platform that enables brands and HGV operators to accurately monitor, manage, and reduce their fleet’s carbon emissions.
Windfall Energy
Ashley Grealish, Rob Halifax
Windfall Energy is tackling the disparity in access to affordable clean energy, which disproportionately affects urban residents. Windfall Energy’s no-installation range includes smart plugs and compact home batteries tailored for smaller homes and renters. By automatically shifting energy usage to periods of peak generation of renewable energy, these products reduce both carbon footprint and energy bills without requiring any permanent home modifications.
Ventures contributing to an Inclusive Society
Fosterli
Rasheda Fry
Fosterli tackles the crisis in the UK foster care system resulting from an acute shortage of adequate carers. In England alone, nearly 400,000 children were classed as children in need. Fosterli is a foster care recruitment platform providing tools for assessing social workers, combining an enhanced assessment process to adequately prepare foster carers and a support network to reduce burnout and early resignation.
Human Sauce
Pete Barr, Ryan McClure
Human Sauce aims to help people with disabilities find timely and adequate assistive technologies (AT). An estimated 2.5 billion people need one or more assistive products, yet only 1 in 10 globally can access suitable AT, resulting in social exclusion and increased inequalities for people with disabilities. Human Sauce is building an AI-powered AT comparison site. It enables users to identify what they need through their conversational interface, which acts like an occupational therapist (OT), reducing the friction users experience due to long wait times for OT assessments and lack of inclusive support.
TinieAI
Berkan Sesen, Dr. Sarah Rudebeck
Tinie.ai addresses the lack of adequate cognitive support for neurodivergent people with special educational needs. Currently, 18% of UK pupils (1.6M) have special educational needs (SEN), facing significant barriers to attaining quality education. Tinie.ai are building Recallify, an AI-powered memory and learning companion. The mobile app enables personalised and smarter learning using gamification and AI to drive active, evidence-based recall strategies tailored to the user’s cognitive needs.
Diversity of our Spring 2025 cohort
- 28% of founders identify as women, 72% as men.
- 18% are all-women teams, 55% all-men teams, and 27% are mixed-gendered teams.
- 45% of companies are based outside of London.
- 83% of founders identify as ‘White’, with the remaining percentage including founders who prefer to not disclose their data and other ethnic groups.

We don’t shy away from being transparent when it comes to the diversity of founders we’ve made investments into. We know we can do better to increase the gender and ethnic representation of founders, and are actively working on opening up more ways for founders from all walks of life. To see our track record investing in diverse teams, please read BGV's 2024 Impact Report.
If you’re part of a community working with diverse founders, please get in touch with Dama to discuss our plans to provide better access to capital.
If you’re considering joining our next programme (applications will open on 1st May), you can speak to a member of the BGV team about your tech for good venture to discuss if it’s a good fit or join our upcoming Q&A events to find out more about BGV.
