To celebrate another excellent cohort, around 180 people made their way to our 15th Demo Day to see the amazing teams from our Autumn 2019 cohort present their progress and pitches to partners, friends, family, founders, investors and more. We were privileged to host the event in the stunning RSA, and the quality of the pitches easily lived up to the venue.

Had a great time at @bg_ventures demo day last night. Favourite stat from the presentations was that cooking a Sunday roast can result in indoor air pollution on the level of Delhi, from @sora_care! pic.twitter.com/w27HF0oZGZ

With twelve teams, Autumn 2019 was our biggest cohort to date, and each team brings unique ideas, skills and support to the group. Each team set up a stand in our networking space. Perhaps the most creative use of this space was offsetting and low-carbon lifestyle brand inhabit, who decorated their table with houseplants. Mini Mealtimes, a budget-friendly dietician app, brought joy to peckish guests through large trays of excellent branded mince pies. After drinks, canapes and networking, the teams headed up to the famous Great Room for the pitches. All the teams nailed their well-drilled pitches (videos will be released on youtube soon), although special kudos had to be given to Laurie Mathison of My Community Capital, who managed an excellent display despite the birth of his son at 6am the day before. To learn more about each individual company, check out their introductory blogs and videos. After the pitches, everyone headed back downstairs to carry on the conversation - and kick off celebrations for the festive season.

And that’s a wrap for #BGVA19 Demo Day! Congratulations to all 12 incredible teams from our A19 cohort building a sustainable planet, a better society and healthy lives for all pic.twitter.com/q26T0jB1YE

Autumn 2019 saw an excellent set of dedicated, dynamic founders who are experts in their focus areas. Once again, the teams have demonstrated that there are so many excellent ways that tech for good can make a sustainable planet, a better society and healthy lives. Going forward, we have every confidence that they will go on to be successful businesses that positively impact the lives of millions of people.
